1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

When you use the Site, you may choose to provide:

• Free sample / newsletter sign-up: your email address and, optionally, your first name, so we can send you the free practice material and occasional study tips, new content, and product updates. You provide this only after ticking a consent box, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
• Contact form: your name, email address, an optional subject line, and the contents of your message, so we can respond to your enquiry.

Information collected automatically

• Cookieless analytics: we use Vercel Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic (such as which pages are popular). It does not use cookies, does not store identifiers on your device, and does not identify you as an individual.
• Advertising: we do not currently use any advertising or marketing cookies. If we introduce them in the future (for example, to measure a Google Ads campaign), they will load only after you accept them on a cookie consent banner, and you will be able to withdraw consent at any time (see Section 4).
• Server logs: like most websites, our hosting provider may temporarily process technical data such as IP address and browser type to deliver and secure the Site.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To send you materials and emails you have requested.
• To respond to your questions and support requests.
• To understand, secure, and improve how the Site is used (in aggregate).
• With your consent, to measure the performance of our advertising.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your email for purposes you did not agree to.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We keep cookies to a minimum. Our analytics provider (Vercel) does not use cookies. We do not currently set any advertising or marketing cookies. If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, a consent banner will let you accept or decline them, and we will use a small amount of local storage in your browser only to remember your choice.

4. Your Consent Choices

We currently use only cookieless analytics, so no consent is required to browse the Site. If we add non-essential (for example, advertising) cookies in the future, a banner will let you accept or decline them, and a Cookie Preferences link will appear in the footer of every page so you can change or withdraw your choice at any time. Withdrawing consent is as easy as giving it.

5. Service Providers and Third Parties

We share personal information only with service providers who help us operate, and only as needed:

• Vercel – website hosting and cookieless analytics.
• Google – advertising measurement, only if we run ad campaigns in the future and only with your consent. Not currently in use.
• Email delivery – we use an email service to send and receive form messages and requested materials.
• Payhip and Lulu – when you buy a digital or printed product, the purchase and payment are handled on their platforms under their own privacy policies. We do not receive or store your card or billing details.
• Apple App Store – App purchases are handled by Apple; we do not receive your financial or billing information.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our service providers process data on servers located outside Canada, including in the United States. Where this happens, the information may be subject to the laws of those countries. We take reasonable steps to ensure your information is handled consistently with this policy.

7. Data Retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. We keep newsletter sign-ups until you unsubscribe, and contact messages for as long as needed to handle your enquiry and our records. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 8).

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including under Canada's PIPEDA, Quebec's Law 25, and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Ask us to correct or update it.
• Ask us to delete it.
• Withdraw your consent at any time.
• Unsubscribe from our emails using the link in any email.

9. The CAEC Ready App

The CAEC Ready mobile application does not collect personal information. It does not collect your name, email, location, or device identifiers, and it does not include third-party analytics or advertising. App purchases are handled by the Apple App Store.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Site and App are not directed at children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last Updated" date above. Significant changes will be made clear.
