Locating Explicit Information (Key Details)

Slide 1 of 12

The answer is on the page

Some CAEC Reading questions do not ask you to interpret anything. They ask for a fact, name, date, time, amount, or step that the passage states directly.

You will recognize them by stems like "According to the passage...", "The notice states that...", or "What time does the clinic open on Saturdays?"

These questions are not testing what you already know about the topic. They are testing whether you can find what the text says.

You should never have to guess or lean on outside facts. The proof is sitting in the passage, and your only job is to locate it.

Key pointIf you can point to the exact sentence that proves your answer, you are done. If you cannot, keep looking.
